How Mergn collects, uses, and safeguards your information across our website, our platform, and the integrations you choose to connect.
Introduction
Mergn ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website mergn.com and use our services, including our plugin and our integrations with third-party assistants.
Please read this privacy policy carefully. If you do not agree with its terms, please do not access the site or use our services.
Information we collect
We collect information about you directly from you, from third parties, and automatically through your use of our services.
Information we collect directly from you
- Personal identification information: name, email address, phone number, business address.
- Account information: username, password, and other login credentials.
- Payment information: credit card details or other payment information.
Information we collect automatically
- Log data: IP address, browser type, operating system, access times, and pages viewed.
- Device information: hardware model and operating system.
- Usage data: how you use our services, including the actions you take within the platform.
Information we collect from third parties
- Social media information: if you link your account with social media accounts, we may collect information from those accounts.
- Third-party services: information from partners that integrate with our services.
How we use your information
- To provide and improve our services: ensuring functionality and improvement.
- To communicate with you: updates, newsletters, and marketing materials.
- To process transactions: handling payments and billing.
- To enhance security: protecting against fraud and unauthorised access.
- To comply with legal obligations: meeting legal requirements and responding to legal processes.
Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following ways:
- With service providers: third parties who perform services on our behalf, such as payment processors and analytics providers.
- With AI assistant providers: where you choose to connect an AI assistant, such as our connector for Claude, we share the campaign data necessary to answer your questions with the provider of that assistant. For the Claude connector this is Anthropic. Only aggregate campaign figures are shared. We never share customer names, contact details, identifiers, orders, or event data. AI assistant integrations sets out exactly what is sent. These integrations are optional and share nothing unless you connect them.
- For business transfers: if we undergo a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
- For legal reasons: when required by law or in response to valid legal processes.
AI assistant integrations
This section describes the MERGN connector for Claude, an optional integration that lets you ask an AI assistant about your campaign performance.
What is sent
When you ask a question through the connector, we send the following to Anthropic so that Claude can answer:
- Campaign and journey names, and the channel used
- Counts of sends, deliveries, views, clicks, and conversions
- Revenue totals per campaign
- The date range requested, and which brand it relates to
What is never sent
- Customer names, email addresses, phone numbers, or postal addresses
- Any customer identifier
- Order details, basket contents, or individual transactions
- Raw event data or custom event properties
- Anything identifying an individual person
Only figures aggregated across a whole campaign leave the platform.
Authentication
We never receive your password through this integration. You enter it on MERGN's own sign-in page. Neither the assistant nor the connector sees it at any point. We receive a credential identifying your account and the brand it belongs to; it is checked on each request and discarded, never stored.
Records we keep
We do not store your questions or the assistant's replies. The conversation stays between you and the assistant; none of it is written down on our side.
What we do keep is an operational log, the same kind we keep for any request to our systems: which report was requested, for which brand and account, the date range, how long it took, and whether it succeeded. These entries contain no customer data and no conversation text. They exist so that we can answer the question "what did the assistant read about my brand?" and so that we can investigate faults.
Limits of the connector
- It cannot change anything. The connector has no ability to create, edit, send, schedule, pause, or delete. This is enforced in the software, not by policy alone.
- It sees your brand only, as determined by your sign-in. Accounts granted access to several brands may report on those, and no others.
- You can remove it at any time in your assistant's settings. Access stops immediately.
- We can withdraw access for an individual account or an entire brand without affecting other customers.
Who processes this data
| Party | Role |
|---|---|
| Mergn | Operates the connector and the platform it reads |
| Anthropic | Operates Claude; receives the aggregate figures above in order to answer you, under its own terms |
